Deer stalking has been a popular sport in Scotland for hundreds of years thanks to the numerous herds of red deer that are present here. As well as providing us with excellent sport, red deer is also a very sought after source of meat. Originally forest dwellers, a lot of the deer now populate the highland mountains and glens due to the forests being developed. Walking through these glens and across mountains sides in search of the deer can be extremely exhilarating and is also a great way of exploring the Scottish landscape.
Usually a male deer is known as a buck and the female a doe. However many larger male deer’s are known as stags and the female red deer is a hind. Whatever the type of deer you want to stalk we can organise a hunting break in Scotland that is tailored made for you. Guided by a local stalking expert, you can enjoy this sport whether you are an experienced shot or a complete beginner.
