By Road
Altnaharra lies on the A836, 21 miles north of Lairg and 17 miles south of the coastal village of Tongue. From Inverness and the south, take the A9 northward and head for Bonar Bridge. At Bonar, turn left through the village on the A836 and drive past Lairg to Tongue.

By Rail
There are regular trains to Inverness, with some connecting trains to Lairg. Transfer can be arranged.

By Air
There are regular flights to Inverness Airport. An airport pick up can be arranged.
